Our Commitment To Palliative Care

At Penpergwm House, it is a priority to have clear guidelines in place for Palliative Care,
when it is considered that a person has a limited time left to live.

  • The family is consulted, where possible, to assist with decisions being taken in accordance with the client’s needs and wishes and these are regularly reviewed and initial choices can always be revised if necessary if circumstances change.
  • Sensitive and respectful communication will always take place between staff and both the dying person and those identified as important to them.
  • A revised Care Plan will include appropriate nourishment, symptom control and psychological, social and spiritual support for the client.
